She has developed a special interest in retirement benefits planning, multi-generational and blended family planning, and trust modifications and decantings. Christina is also versed in business entity formation and business law.
Christina Hinkle was born in Princeton, New Jersey, and spent several years in Geneva, Switzerland, before settling in the Durham-Chapel Hill area. She attended Chapel Hill High School, and then Duke University, graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. In 1993, Christina graduated with high honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she served as an Articles Editor of the North Carolina Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif. She was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 1993.
Following law school, Christina clerked for the Honorable J. Dickson Phillips, Jr., on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She has been a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law since 2008, and has received the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating.
Christina is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). She is also a council member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section and serves on its Legislative Committee and CLE Planning Committee. She also serves as a member of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization’s Estate Planning and Probate Law Committee. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association (Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law and Business Law Sections), American Bar Association (Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Section), and the Durham County Bar Association. She has served as a board member of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Continuing Legal Education, vice president of the Durham/Orange Estate Planning Council, and as a board member of Child Care Services Association, a child care advocacy organization.
Outside of work, Christina enjoys pickleball, gardening, bird watching, hiking with her dogs, reading any good novel, and travelling with her husband and three children.
